CEFN SIDAN,Burry Port ...14/5

After getting home from Walberswick mrs bri informed me that she had found a dogsitter and did i fancy a trip down to south wales for a short session with Anglo Taff in the morning.

" do sharks sh1t in the ocean" was the reply, a quick phone call to JB and accomodation was booked,bait would be dug in the morning and,because of a late start, we would only get the last 2 hrs of the flood at Cefn Sidan and try for some schoolies.

Round to see Stelios for 8.15 to collect a couple of rods for JB then hit the highway down to Burry Port.

After a trouble free 4 1/2 hours on the road, pulled up at JB's, said g'bye to mrs bri and off to the beach.
surf was perfect with a slight over the right shoulder wind to pick it up abot 80 to 90yds out.
One rod,few lug & rag, couple of rigs and a 4oz grip and we were fishing, standing in the surf with the rods up high to stop a bit of wave judder.
JB's in first cast with a pristine little schoolie , prob 12ozs or so, fat little thing it was, absolutley perfect.several more followed, like peas in a pod apart from 2, maybe just sizeable and perhaps 1 1/4 lb.
before we knew it the tide had topped and was on the way out so time to jack it in, a short but oh so sweet session on a fabulous location with a fellow looney.
Had a quick go at the estuary / river but nowt doin so after 1/2 hour decided that was it, back home to his and mine,chewed the fat for an hour or 2 then bed, totally done in.
Pub lunch today and then back to Thetford.
Great weekend with a cracking couple & laffs a plenty, what more could you want in a weekend.
